This study aims to determine the effect of organic mulch thickness of ki rinyuh (Chromolaena odorata) on the growth of Mulato grass (Brachiaria hybrid cv. Mulato) during the second harvest. The research was conducted at the Field Laboratory of the Animal Husbandry, Marine, and Fisheries Study Program, Nusa Cendana University. The study utilized an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) comprising 4 treatments and 4 replications, totaling 16 experimental units. The treatments tested included: M0 = no mulch (control), M1 = 1 cm mulch thickness (520 grams/0.5625 m²), M2 = 3 cm mulch thickness (1560 grams/0.5625 m²), and M3 = 5 cm mulch thickness (2600 grams/0.5625 m²). The variables studied were plant height, number of tillers, and number of leaves. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Duncan's test. The results of the ANOVA indicated that the treatments had no significant effect (P>0.05) on plant height and number of tillers, but had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the number of leaves of Mulato grass during the second harvest. Duncan's test showed that the number of leaves in treatment M2 differed significantly (P<0.05) from treatment M0, but did not differ significant (P>0.05) from treatments M1 and M3 regarding the number of leaves of Mulato grass during the second harvest. In conclusion, the application of mulch with a thickness of 5 cm (2600 grams/0.5625 m²) resulted in the highest growth performance in terms of plant height (28.87 cm), while the highest number of tillers (56.29) and number of leaves (283.3 leaves) were observed at a thickness of 3 cm (1560 grams/0.562 m²).
