PENGARUH TERAPI SLOW DEEP BREATHING TERHADAP PENURUNAN KECEMASAN PADA LANSIA DI PANTI SOSIAL TRESNA WERDHA SABAI NAN ALUIH SICINCIN PADANG PARIAMAN

Lansia merupakan orang yang berusia 60 tahun keatas. Dimana pada usia ini orang mengalami perubahan fisik dan psikologis. Kecemasan merupakan salah satu perubahan psikologis pada lansia. Prevalensi kecemasan pada lansia di dunia berkisar 8 – 15%. Indonesia sekitar 83,1% lansia mengalami cemas. Sumatera Barat (2023) mengatakan jumlah lansia yang mengalami kecemasan sekitar 8,15% Tingginya kecemasan lansia dapat diatasi dengan melakukan terapi slow deep breathing. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh terapi slow deep breathing terhadap penurunan kecemasan pada lansia di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Sabai Nan Aluih Sicincin Padang Pariaman. Jenis penelitian pre-eksperiment dengan menggunakan pendekatan One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Penelitian dilaksanakan bulan Maret – Agustus 2024. Pengumpulan data pada tanggal 29 Mei – 04 Juni 2024. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh lansia di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Sabai Nan Aluih Sicincin Padang Pariaman 110 orang dengan sampel 52 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah purposive sampling. Penelitian ini dianalisa secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji statistik paired T-test. Hasil penelitian ini rata-rata kecemasan sebelum diberikan terapi slow deep breathing adalah 27 dan sesudah diberikan terapi slow deep breathing adalah 14,54. Ada pengaruh terapi slow deep breathing terhadap penurunan kecemasan pada lansia di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Sabai Nan Aluih Sicincin Padang Pariaman tahun 2025. Kesimpulan penelitian ini ada pengaruh terapi slow deep breathing terhadap penurunan kecemasan pada lansia di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Sabai Nan Aluih Sicincin Padang Pariaman. Diharapkan melalui pimpinan panti sosial tresna werdha dapat menambahkan program terapi slow deep breathing yang dilakukan setiap 2 kali seminggu.
Elderly people are those aged 60 and over. At this age, people experience physical and psychological changes. Anxiety is one of the psychological changes in the elderly. The prevalence of anxiety in the elderly worldwide ranges from 8 to 15%. In Indonesia, approximately 83.1% of elderly people experience anxiety. West Sumatra (2023) reported that the number of elderly people experiencing anxiety is around 8.15%. High levels of anxiety in the elderly can be addressed by slow deep breathing therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of slow deep breathing therapy on reducing anxiety in the elderly at the Sabai Nan Aluih Sicincin Padang Pariaman Social Home. This study used a pre-experimental approach using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study was conducted from March to August 2024. Data collection took place from May 29 to June 4, 2024. The population of this study was all 110 elderly people at the Sabai Nan Aluih Sicincin Padang Pariaman Social Home, with a sample size of 52. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. This study was analyzed using univariate and bivariate statistical methods using paired t-tests. The results showed that the average anxiety score before slow deep breathing therapy was 27 and after slow deep breathing therapy was 14.54. There was an effect of slow deep breathing therapy on reducing anxiety in the elderly at the Sabai Nan Aluih Sicincin Padang Pariaman Social Home in 2025. The conclusion of this study is that slow deep breathing therapy has an effect on reducing anxiety in the elderly at the Sabai Nan Aluih Sicincin Padang Pariaman Social Home. It is hoped that the management of the Tresna Werdha social home will add a slow deep breathing therapy program twice a week.
