Aspergillus sp, a common mold type found in environments rich in organic matter, can contaminate the air in libraries, posing potential health hazards to visitors. Objective this study aims to identify the level of Aspergillus sp pollution in the Malang City Library. Methodology the research was conducted in March-April 2024 using Random Sampling technique, including fungal isolation through air trapping. Macroscopic identification was performed by examining the characteristics of Aspergillus sp colonies, while microscopic identification was conducted using staining with Lactophenol Cotton Blue (LCB) and observation under a microscope at 40X magnification. Results in samples R2 and R3, colonies of yellowish-black color, round, granular, covering half of the vesicle's upper part, indicating the presence of Aspergillus sp, were found. Microscopic identification revealed the presence of conidial stalks, rough conidia, long branched hyphae, consistent with the characteristics of Aspergillus flavus. Conclusion the identification of Aspergillus flavus in the Malang City Library has significant implications for efforts to prevent air pollution and protect the health of visitors.
