HUBUNGAN SANITASI LINGKUNGAN RUMAH DAN PERSONAL HYGIENE TERHADAP KEJADIAN SKABIES PADA ANAK USIA SEKOLAH DI KELURAHAN NUNUKAN TIMUR TAHUN 2023

Abstrak

Background: Skabies is a skin disease caused by sarcoptes scabiei. Scabies can spread through direct
contact with individuals who suffer from scabies disease through indirect contact with equipment or
objects that have been contaminated with scabie scabs, such as sharing towels or bed linen with people
suffering from the disease. Scabies are more easily spread when people live in groups or densely
populated places such as dormitories, groups of schoolchildren, or inter-families in houses that are
densely occupied even in villages. The aim of this study is to find out the relationship between the
sanitation of the home environment and personal hygiene to the incidence of skabies in school-age
children in the eastern northern part of the country in 2023. Methods: The type of research used is
quantitative with analytical descriptive methods and research design using cross-sectional design. A
sample of 56 respondents was taken using the Simple Random Sampling technique. Data analyzed with
phases namely univariat analysis, bivariat analysis with the 95% CI chi-square test (α = 0.05),
multivariate analysis with double logistical regression test. Results: The results of this study show that
there is a relationship between ventilation (p value=0,000), humidity (p value=0,004), lighting (p
value=0.004), bedroom hygiene (p value=0.020), towel hygiene, and clothing hygiene with the
occurrence of skabies in school-age children. There was no internal relationship between the
availability of clean water (p value=0.269), the density of the household (p value=0.977), the hygiene
of the skin (p value=0.187), hand and nail hygiene (p value=0.243) and foot hygienic (p valuet=0.651)
with the incidence of skabies in school-age children. As for clothing hygiene (p value=0,000;
PR=3494,858) is a dominant variable related to skabies incidence in school-age children in Kelurahan
East Nunukan Year 2023. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the variables of ventilation,
humidity, lighting, bedroom hygiene, towel hygiene and clothes hygiene to the skabie incidence of
school-aged children in kelurahan Eastern Nunukan year 2023.
