Abstrak

Penelitian ini membahas penerapan metode Six Sigma dengan pendekatan DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) dalam upaya mengurangi jumlah barang unreturnable di Distribution Center (DC) X yang berdampak terhadap efisiensi operasional dan biaya logistik. Barang unreturnable seperti produk cacat dan kedaluwarsa memerlukan pemusnahan yang menambah beban operasional dan mengganggu kelancaran distribusi. Melalui tahapan DMAIC, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi akar penyebab permasalahan, seperti kesalahan manusia, inefisiensi dalam material handling, dan metode kerja yang belum optimal. Analisis dilakukan dengan bantuan alat Lean seperti, diagram fishbone, dan Pareto chart. Solusi yang dikembangkan meliputi penguatan SOP, pelatihan staf, perbaikan proses penyimpanan, dan pemanfaatan sistem monitoring digital. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan peningkatan efisiensi gudang, percepatan proses pemusnahan, dan pengurangan produk cacat. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap strategi pengelolaan logistik yang lebih berkelanjutan dan efisien di sektor distribusi ritel.

This study examines the implementation of the Six Sigma method using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach to reduce the number of unreturnable goods at Distribution Center (DC) X, which negatively impacts operational efficiency and logistics costs. Unreturnable items, such as defective or expired products, require destruction, resulting in additional operational burdens and disruptions in the distribution process. Through the DMAIC phases, this research identifies root causes such as human error, inefficiencies in material handling, and suboptimal working methods. The analysis employs Lean tools, fishbone diagrams, and Pareto charts. Proposed solutions include strengthening standard operating procedures (SOP), staff training, improved storage practices, and the use of digital monitoring systems. The implementation results demonstrate improved warehouse efficiency, faster disposal processes, and a reduction in defective products. These findings contribute to more sustainable and efficient logistics management strategies within the retail distribution sector.
