PENGARUH PEMAHAMAN DIAGNOSA WAJAH TERHADAP KETEPATAN TEKNIK CONTOURING PADA TATA RIAS WAJAH MC (MASTER OF CEREMONY)

Abstrak

Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh adanya kesulitan dari mahasiswa tata rias dan kecantikan dalam menentukan area wajah yang tepat, serta kurangnya perhatian terhadap struktur wajah. Hal ini sangat penting dalam menentukan teknik contouring yang tepat, sehingga dapat menunjang penampilan profesional seorang MC di atas panggung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemahaman diagnosa wajah perhadap ketepatan teknik contouring pada rias wajah MC (Master of Ceremony). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Departemen Tata Rias dan Kecantikan Universitas Negeri Padang, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 20 orang yang ditentukan melalui teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya beserta penilaian ketepatan teknik contouring dari dosen pengampu mata kuliah tata rias panggung. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, dan analisis korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa mengenai diagnosa wajah dan ketepatan teknik contouring berada pada kategori sedang. Berdasarkan hasil uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment diperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,759 dengan signifikansi 0,001 < 0,05. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang kuat dan signifikan antara pemahaman diagnosa wajah dengan ketepatan teknik contouring pada rias wajah MC. Artinya, semakin baik pemahaman diagnosa wajah mahasiswa, maka semakin tepat pula teknik contouring yang diaplikasikan.

This research is based on the difficulties faced by students of the Department of Makeup and Beauty in determining the correct facial areas, as well as the lack of attention to facial structure. This aspect is crucial in applying the appropriate contouring techniques to enhance the professional appearance of a Master of Ceremony (MC) on stage. The study aims to determine the effect of understanding facial diagnosis on the accuracy of contouring techniques in MC makeup. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of students from the Department of Makeup and Beauty at Universitas Negeri Padang, with a sample of 20 students selected using purposive sampling techniques. The research instruments included a validated and reliable questionnaire, along with contouring accuracy assessments conducted by lecturers of stage makeup courses. Data analysis involved validity testing, reliability testing, normality testing, and Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis. The results indicated that students’ understanding of facial diagnosis and the accuracy of contouring techniques were both in the moderate category. Based on the Pearson Product Moment correlation test, the correlation coefficient obtained was 0.759 with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05. This finding demonstrates a strong and significant positive relationship between the understanding of facial diagnosis and the accuracy of contouring techniques in MC makeup. In other words, the better the students’ understanding of facial diagnosis, the more accurate their contouring application becomes.
