Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh jenis batubara sub-bituminus terhadap jumlah konsumsi batubara dan emisi gas buang sulfur dioksida (SO₂) serta nitrogen dioksida (NO₂) pada cerobong boiler batubara di PT.X. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan rancangan observasional. Data yang dianalisis meliputi nilai kalori batubara antara 6.025,20–6.095 kkal/kg, jumlah konsumsi batubara, dan hasil uji emisi yang dilakukan oleh laboratorium lingkungan terakreditasi KAN. Sebelum melakukan analisis regresi linear, data diuji normalitasnya terlebih dahulu menggunakan SPSS. Setelah data dinyatakan normal, metode analisis yang digunakan adalah regresi linear untuk menguji hubungan antara nilai kalori batubara, konsumsi batubara, dan emisi gas buang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi negatif antara nilai kalori batubara dan intensitas konsumsi batubara (r_s = -0,9), serta korelasi negatif terhadap emisi SO₂ dan NO₂. Selain itu, terdapat perbedaan signifikan konsumsi batubara dan kadar emisi antara Tipe A (sub-bituminus rendah) dan Tipe B (sub-bituminus tinggi). Semakin tinggi nilai kalori batubara, semakin rendah jumlah konsumsi dan emisi yang dihasilkan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pertimbangan PT.X dalam pengelolaan standar kualitas batubara untuk meningkatkan efisiensi energi dan pengendalian emisi gas buang, serta mendukung upaya pemenuhan baku mutu emisi sesuai peraturan lingkungan hidup yang berlaku.

This study aims to analyze the effect of sub-bituminous coal type on coal consumption and the emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO₂) and nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) at the stack of coal boilers in PT.X. A quantitative approach with an observational design was used in this research. The data analyzed includes coal calorific values ranging from 6,025.20 to 6,095 kcal/kg, coal consumption, and emission test results conducted by an accredited KAN environmental laboratory. Before performing linear regression analysis, the data was first tested for normality using SPSS. After the data was confirmed to be normally distributed, linear regression analysis was applied to examine the relationship between coal calorific values, coal consumption, and emissions. The results showed a negative correlation between the coal calorific value and coal consumption intensity (r_s = -0.9), as well as negative correlations with SO₂ and NO₂ emissions. Additionally, significant differences were found in coal consumption and emission levels between Type A (low sub-bituminous) and Type B (high sub-bituminous). The higher the calorific value of the coal, the lower the coal consumption and emissions produced. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a basis for PT.X in managing coal quality standards to improve energy efficiency and control emissions, as well as support efforts to meet emission quality standards in accordance with applicable environmental regulations.
